At the Alabino training ground, preparations for the Victory Parade involve a substantial display of national strength. The Defense Ministry announced that about 11,000 military personnel have been brought together, supported by 131 units of military equipment and 77 aircraft, all assembled for the rehearsal ahead of the ceremonial event scheduled for Monday. The sheer scale of participation underscores the parade’s significance and the meticulous planning that goes into coordinating multiple branches of the armed forces.

During the rehearsal, 33 ceremonial foot-column calculations were performed to choreograph the march, ensuring precise alignment and timing for the parade ground route. The mechanized component of the column features a diverse mix of combat and support platforms, including all-terrain Typhoon armored vehicles, BMP-2 and BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, the Kurganets-25 equipped formations, and main battle tanks such as the T-72B3M, T-90M, and the advanced T-14 Armata. Supporting fire and air defense assets are also integrated, with systems like the Iskander missile complex, Msta-S howitzers, the Tornado-G multiple rocket launchers, Tor-M2 and Buk-M3 air defense systems, and the S-400 Triumph air defense network. The parade will also feature units from the Airborne Forces, Strategic Missile Forces, and mechanized units, along with Uran-9 remotely operated combat robots, illustrating a broad spectrum of capabilities on display.

The aerial component includes eight MiG-29SMT fighters that are slated to participate in a formation shaped like the letter Z, a visually striking arrangement intended to highlight air power. In addition to the fighters, the aviation lineup comprises 15 helicopters and 62 fixed-wing aircraft. Among these, rotorcraft such as the Mi-26, Mi-24, Ka-52, Ka-28, Mi-8, and Mi-24 are coordinated with a fleet of strategic and transport aircraft that includes the Il-76, Tu-160, Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3, and Il-78. The fleet also features newer and multi-role fighters, such as the Su-57, Su-35, Su-30SM, and MiG-31BM, alongside bombers like the Su-34 and Su-24M, ensuring a comprehensive aerial demonstration that complements the ground elements of the parade.

Looking ahead, officials confirmed two important schedule milestones. Night training sessions are planned for April 28 and May 4 on Red Square in Moscow, followed by a dress rehearsal on May 7. The main parade, marking the 77th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, is set to take place on May 9 in 28 Russian cities. The events will be accompanied by festive greetings and fireworks at 10:00 PM local time, creating a nationwide panorama of celebration that extends beyond the capital to multiple regional centers.
