An incident in St. Petersburg, captured on video, involved a rideshare vehicle in which an underage passenger lost their life and a teenage female onlooker was thrown onto the Neva riverbank during the chaotic moments that followed. The footage, published by the Telegram channel Shot, shows the sequence leading up to the crash and the immediate aftermath on the embankment.
In the clip, the car involved in the rideshare service appears to lose control, skidding sideways at high speed along the street before colliding with a city light pole. The vehicle then crashes onto the pavement near the riverfront, drawing the attention of bystanders and emergency responders alike.
According to reports, the ride-sharing passenger who died was 17 years old. A second teenage occupant, a 19-year-old, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital for urgent medical care. The accident also injured two female pedestrians, one of whom was propelled into the Neva during the impact and required hospitalization for serious injuries. The other pedestrian received medical attention and was discharged after treatment.
Earlier information indicated that a student from a military educational institution was driving the vehicle. Authorities noted that the driver did not suffer serious injuries in the crash. Investigators are handling the case, and authorities have not yet disclosed whether a criminal case will be opened.
