Spain remains one of Europe’s top destinations, offering everything from sun-kissed beaches to rugged interior landscapes and vibrant cities like Barcelona and Madrid. For road trips in Spain, travelers can expect light traffic in many areas, with lower congestion during typical travel times. Car rental averages around 44 dollars per day, and the country enjoys relatively safe roads with road fatality rates lower than in some other destinations. This combination makes it a practical pick for both short hops and longer explorations across the peninsula.
Slovenia (6.4 points)
This compact country is ideal for a road adventure, featuring diverse scenery from Alpine peaks to a picturesque Adriatic coastline and pristine national parks. Off-street parking can be affordable, sometimes as low as one dollar per hour, supporting spontaneous detours to explore charming towns and natural highlights.
