The Renault Oroch is a five‑seat pickup derived from the Duster, refreshed to align with European standards and now primarily offered in South America where compact pickups enjoy strong demand.

With a maximum payload of up to 680 kg, the model sports a redesigned exterior, a refined cabin, and a suite of new technologies. In appearance, only the original Duster cues remain; the Oroch has shed its identity as a variant to become a standalone model, with the Renault script replacing the old Duster branding.

The cargo bed can carry up to 683 liters on its side-corridor dimensions. Its wheelbase stretches to 2.83 meters, delivering not only ample loading space but also comfortable seating for three rear passengers on longer trips.

The interior borrows from the European Sandero, offering a more modern ambiance. Round HVAC vents were removed, replaced by a contemporary multimedia system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for a seamless smartphone integration experience.

The flagship version now packs a 1.3 TCe engine delivering 170 horsepower. This engine employs a dual-fuel setup capable of running on both gasoline and ethanol, and it is paired with a CVT X-Tronic transmission. In addition, the chassis features a 1.6 SCe engine producing 120 horsepower mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

Meanwhile, the market has seen a rising trend toward crossovers like Hyundai’s Santa Cruz, which combines the comfort of a crossover with the practicality of a pickup. Such a concept appears well-suited to appeal to buyers seeking a more affordable, versatile option that blends car-like ride quality with practical cargo versatility in regions where these vehicles are popular.
