By late 2025 or early 2026, Porsche plans to unveil the fully electric Cayenne. While the model itself is expected to receive a refresh this year, the electric variant will ride on a new platform designed for battery-electric powertrains.

The propulsion system headlines a project nicknamed SSP Sport, developed in-house by Porsche. While official details remain sparse, industry chatter suggests the electric Cayenne will exceed 600 horsepower, and its battery pack could surpass 100 kilowatt-hours. In practical terms, that configuration is projected to deliver around 300 miles of EPA-rated range on a single charge, aligning with the brand’s performance-focused ambitions.

Positioned as Porsche’s third model to move fully electric, the Cayenne follows the approach already under way with other models in the lineup. The Macan is anticipated to join the electric family in 2024, followed by the 718 in 2025. Looking further ahead, the company has set a target to achieve more than 80 percent of its new-car sales as electrified by 2030, underscoring the central role of electric versions in Porsche’s strategy.
