New Wuling Xingchi Crossover Emerges on the Russian Market
A recently surfaced report from Russian media notes a fresh Wuling Xingchi crossover appearing in Russia. The seller is asking for 2 million rubles for a 2023 model, signaling a potential entry into a competitive segment for late 2023/early 2024 products.
In terms of dimensions, the vehicle spans 4365 millimeters in length. Built on a modular R platform, the Xingchi is positioned in size and footprint near popular compact crossovers such as the Skoda Karoq and the Kia Seltos. Inside, the cabin offers a digital instrument cluster and a multimedia system featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen. Convenience and comfort come standard with features including climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a rear-view camera, and an electrically adjustable driver seat.
The powertrain consists of a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter gasoline engine delivering approximately 99 horsepower, paired with front-wheel drive. The setup emphasizes efficiency and city-friendly driving rather than high performance, aligning with typical crossover expectations in this class.
In a broader industry context, the China Automotive Quality Network — established in August through the initiative of the PRC Market Regulation Administration — published a reliability rating for crossovers sold in the domestic market. The assessment covered 19 models priced around 100,000 yuan, roughly 1.2 million rubles at the exchange rate at the time of publication. This rating helps buyers compare long-term reliability across a diverse lineup of Chinese crossovers.
Among the models cited as most reliable in this rating are the GAC Trumpchi GS3, Geely Binyue/Coolray, Wuling Xingchi itself, Kia KX1, Chery Tiggo 5x (also known as Chery Tiggo 4 Pro in some markets), Venucia T60, Livan X3 Pro, Chery Tiggo 3x, Roewe RX3, MG ZS, and Beijing X3 (BAIC X35), as well as the Peugeot 2008 in the same category. These names reflect a mix of mainstream, compact crossovers that have established a reputation for durability and value within the Chinese market, and their export potential has been watched closely by buyers and dealers abroad.
Earlier reports also indicated that the Chinese-origin crossover Nio ES8 would enter the Russian market with a price tag around 16 million rubles, signaling ongoing interest from Chinese manufacturers in expanding into Russia with a range of crossover offerings.
