Kaliningrad Avtotor Advances SPIC Foundry and Electric Vehicle Initiatives
Kaliningrad Avtotor has acquired equipment for a new foundry and mechanical plant, which is being developed as part of the Special Production and Innovation Complex (SPIC). The company’s official communications indicate that this facility will manufacture aluminum billets intended for electric motor components.
The equipment mix includes a combination of domestically produced and international machines. Among the key pieces are two furnaces for processing aluminum alloys and extrusion machines designed to shape lightweight profiles for vehicle bodies and frames. There are also plans to deploy robotics within the injection-molding complex to enhance precision and efficiency in production.
Beyond the foundry, Avtotor is progressing with the creation of factories dedicated to electric motors, battery systems, electronic modules, plastics, robotics, non-standard equipment and tooling, and a plant focused on compact electric vehicles as part of the SPIC program. The Kaliningrad facility is actively attracting skilled professionals from across regions to support this broad industrial initiative.
Additionally, there are plans to resume assembling cars from brands originating in China, signaling an expanded scope for the company’s manufacturing capabilities.
Requires 7,000 Tires in Popular Sizes
