A fresh variant of Chery’s Jetour X70 Plus has debuted in the Chinese market, notable for enhanced safety options, revised styling, and a price tag of 97.9 thousand yuan (roughly 1 million rubles). This update comes from Chinese automotive publication Portal.
The updated X70 Plus builds on the late-2022 version with a new horizontal radiator grille design replacing the previous vertical slats. The manufacturer also upgrades the multimedia system to offer broader functionality. The active safety package now includes features such as emergency automatic braking and hill descent control. The car’s overall dimensions remain unchanged at 4749 mm in length, 1900 mm in width, and 1720 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2745 mm. It is offered in both five- and seven-seat configurations.
Under the hood, the Jetour X70 Plus continues to use a 1.5-liter turbo engine rated at 156 horsepower. This powerplant is familiar to Russian buyers through models like the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro, Tiggo 7 Pro Max, and Tiggo 4 Pro. Power is delivered through either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automated gearbox, with drive sent to the front wheels.
In Russia, Jetour has reportedly approved the X90 and Dashing crossovers, scheduled for release this spring. Industry sources indicate that the X70 and X70 Plus variants could eventually join the lineup. Chinese Autos notes that the Dashing is projected to carry a price near 2.2 million rubles, while the X90 is expected to be around 4 million rubles.
Earlier reports highlighted that Chinese brands have led the Russian market for three consecutive weeks, reflecting a shift in consumer preferences toward affordable, feature-rich crossovers. Analysts point to a growing demand for connected infotainment, advanced driver assistance, and efficient powertrains that align with the needs of urban families and practical traveling.
