The Jetour brand, part of the Chery group, has announced plans to roll out five new SUVs by 2025, according to industry coverage. This initiative underscores Jetour’s broader strategy to expand its global lineup and strengthen its position in key markets across North America. The company’s trajectory reflects a push to offer more versatile models that blend practical everyday usability with enhanced performance and efficiency across diverse driving conditions.
In 2024 Jetour is eyeing three new compact models — codenamed T1H, T1P and T1L — with the last two variants slated to launch with hybrid powertrains. Two additional entries are slated for 2025: the T-2, an off-road SUV that targets rugged capability, and the R-2, an off-road pickup designed to compete with established players in that segment. The T-2 is positioned to rival urban-adventure offerings like the Tank 300, while the R-2 challenges mid-size, capable pickups from other Chinese brands in the same arena.
The forthcoming models will be equipped with a hybrid system derived from Chery’s turbocharged 1.5 and 2.0-liter engines. This setup enables brisk acceleration, with 0 to 100 km/h times reported in the low 4-second range and a top speed approaching 240 km/h. When running in electric mode, these vehicles can travel substantial distances, with an estimated electric range around 165 km. Overall range is projected near 1,400 km, and fuel economy is anticipated to be around 4.2 liters per 100 kilometers, highlighting the emphasis on efficiency alongside performance.
Jetour has seen strong sales momentum in recent years. By the end of 2023, the brand reported global sales of about 184,000 vehicles for the year, marking a year-over-year increase of roughly 67 percent. Since entering the market in 2018, Jetour has delivered more than 800,000 vehicles to customers worldwide. In Russia, the Jetour lineup currently features the X90 Plus, X70 Plus and Dashing crossovers, illustrating the brand’s ongoing regional expansion and product diversification to meet local demand.
Jetour’s leadership has indicated plans to commence production in Russia, signaling an intent to deepen manufacturing and supply-chain presence in the region. This move would align with broader industry trends toward localized assembly to better serve regional markets and reduce delivery times for customers. The brand’s prior announcements about new SUV offerings in Russia remain part of its long-term, strategic roadmap as it builds a stronger footprint in the country and surrounding markets.
