Based on personal experience, 68.9% of participants reported relying on preliminary internet research, reading articles and reviews. About 37.5% trust recommendations from friends, 30.6% examine tire tests, 21.8% follow insights from automotive industry experts, and 21.4% place trust in professional assessments from the sector.
In practice, following the manufacturer’s guidance, especially regarding tire size, was cited by nearly a quarter of respondents. Only 9.9% rely on seller opinions.
The broader question about tires in general, without seasonal differentiation, was posed online in October 2022, with more than 3,000 participants contributing their views.
A detailed look at these preferences helps explain how consumers weigh safety, performance, and price when choosing tires. Personal experience and online information often blend with expert opinions and brand recommendations to form a practical decision framework. For many buyers, reliability and compatibility with vehicle specifications take priority, while others seek reassurance from independent tests or peer recommendations. The mix of sources reflects a diverse marketplace where facts, experience, and trust intersect to shape purchase behavior.
