GWM Poer KingKong Arrives in Russia with Modern Diesel and Gasoline Options
Great Wall Motor Company, a major player in the global pickup segment, plans to introduce the GWM Poer KingKong to the Russian market in the spring of 2023. This strategic move was disclosed through autostat.ru, which cites the automaker’s official press service as the source of the announcement. The model is positioned to expand Great Wall’s footprint in the pickup category, combining rugged capability with contemporary technology for regional buyers.
The Poer KingKong will offer two propulsion choices. A 2.0-liter gasoline engine delivers 190 horsepower, aimed at delivering strong on-road performance and reliable towing capability for everyday use. A 2.0-liter reversible diesel option generates 150 horsepower, emphasizing efficiency for longer trips and work-related duties. Both powertrains will be paired with a six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive, underscoring the truck’s emphasis on driver control and versatility across varied road conditions. The vehicle’s dimensions are substantial: 5641 mm in length, 1880 mm in width, and 1815 mm in height, signaling a generous footprint suited to both cargo and passenger comfort.
From a safety and convenience standpoint, the Poer KingKong is equipped with a perimeter vision system that helps monitor surroundings, supporting safer parking and maneuvering. Additional standard features include emergency braking and roll-over prevention, a 10-inch multimedia screen for navigation and entertainment, a 220 W power outlet for tools and devices, and sensors for light and rain that assist in driving in changing weather. The model will be offered in two trim levels and six body colors, allowing buyers to tailor appearance and equipment to their needs and tastes.
In related news, the vehicle known in China as the Arrizo 8 has been scheduled for Russia’s market introduction, with plans to go on sale before the close of the summer season. This sedan, reflecting a distinct approach within the Chery umbrella, signals ongoing expansion of Chinese automakers into the Russian automotive landscape. The dual announcements illustrate a broader strategy of diversifying product lines to appeal to a range of buyers across different segments and regional preferences.
