AvtoVAZ announced that air‑cushioned versions of the Lada Granta would continue to be produced through the end of August 2022, a detail disclosed by Maxim Sokolov, the company’s head, during a press conference in Izhevsk. The top manager stressed that AvtoVAZ currently maintains a sufficient stock of components required to manufacture airbag-equipped Grantas. Nevertheless, the plant indicated it would not be able to pause entirely on offering only an anti‑crisis lineup, and plans for the production of cars featuring ABS and ESP were put on hold, with expectations that those models would not restart until 2023.
Earlier reminders noted that the simplified Lada Granta began sales on June 16. The base sedan carried a price tag of 678,300 rubles, with a pullback variant listed at 698,300 rubles and a station wagon priced at 705,300 rubles.
Details about the simplified Granta reveal that it did not include several safety and convenience systems at launch. Specifically, the model lacked an anti‑lock braking system, a driver’s airbag, electronic stability control, ERA‑GLONASS, belt pretensioners, and an immobilizer.
