Media coverage reports a prototype car seen at the AVTOVAZ training ground near Tolyatti. Yet no photo or video evidence accompanied the articles when they appeared earlier this week. Based on the released footage, the prototype appears real, though the initial reports lack corroborating imagery. The cross‑version station wagon was transported on a trailer to the Zhigulevskaya Dolina technopark area in Tolyatti, and a distinctive feature noted is the absence of an exhaust system, marking a departure from typical internal combustion designs.
The trial batch of the electric Largus is planned to be assembled at the Lada Izhevsk plant next year. The line will operate in a full production cycle, including welding and painting, with the goal of complete localization over the long term. According to Maxim Sokolov, the head of AVTOVAZ, the facility could reach production of up to a thousand electric Largus units annually if demand remains strong.
Requires 7,000 tires in popular sizes
Public order, emergency services, and medical care depend on reliable transportation. In response, the program organized by Behind the Wheel in collaboration with the Popular Front is coordinating a tire drive for the fleet of the People’s Police and operational services in the LPR and DPR. This effort also supports ambulances, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, humanitarian aid delivery vehicles, and military equipment. Contributions can be made on the collection page to help meet the goal of 7,000 tires in commonly used sizes.
