Two sections of the Crimean Bridge’s car corridor will be installed during January, according to Rosavtodor. Preparatory work has already progressed, setting the stage for the upcoming installation window. The plan for January involves relocating the first two spans on the left-hand road platform in an alternating sequence. To ensure safe execution, temporary traffic restrictions will be introduced on two separate occasions, a measure announced by the department’s press service. These pauses are intended to manage the flow of vehicles while the shift takes place and to minimize disruption for nearby communities.

The project timeline calls for the replacement of two additional car spans in February 2023. Following the span installation, construction crews will add safety barriers and lighting poles, apply two layers of asphalt concrete pavement, and mark motorist guidance to restore clear, durable travel lanes. These enhancements are part of a broader effort to upgrade the bridge’s driving surface and improve long-term usability for road users.

At present, the remaining traffic on the left-hand spans is limited to cars and passenger buses. Heavy freight vehicles must continue to use the ferry crossing while the reconstruction work continues. This phased approach helps maintain some level of mobility for residents and essential services, even as the corridor undergoes modernization and resilience improvements.

Based on current assessments, the spring season is anticipated to bring a broader resumption of traffic for all vehicle types on the Crimean Bridge. The completion of key installation and safety upgrades should support a return to more normal traffic patterns, contributing to better reliability for regional travel and commerce.
