This year, the Chinese automaker Chery plans updated Tiggo 4 and Tiggo 7 versions for the Russian market, alongside the new flagship crossover Tiggo 9. The information comes from the Automobile News of the Day portal, which cites Sun Spring, deputy general manager of Chery International, as the source of the plan’s details.
Since March, deliveries of the refreshed Tiggo 4 Pro 18-year crossover have been rolling out in Russia, commemorating the brand’s presence in the domestic market for 18 years. The model is offered in five trim levels, with the top configuration boasting an expanded equipment list. The price, after considering a direct-benefit program, stands at 150 thousand rubles above the base, while the starting price sits near 1.97 million rubles.
At this time, definitive information about the updated Tiggo 7 is not available. The Tiggo 9 is currently distributed in Russia through gray-market channels and private owners. Late last year, the model was offered for purchase in the 4.3 to 5 million ruble range, reflecting its premium status and limited availability.
Earlier announcements noted that Chery would introduce a new car brand in Russia under the Tiggo umbrella, signaling a broader localization and diversification strategy for the brand in the domestic market.
Looking ahead to 2025, market observers expect a final decision on the Chery iCar 03 model in the second half of 2024, with decisions guided by evolving market conditions and consumer demand in Russia. The ongoing assessment suggests that the brand is weighing its electric vehicle lineup and related infrastructure as part of a broader regional rollout.
Meanwhile, Audi has opted for lifecycle extension rather than introducing a flagship electric replacement for the A8, a move that underscores how luxury brands are calibrating their product strategies in response to shifting customer expectations and regulatory environments in key markets.
