Chery has revealed a pre-production version of the compact crossover Omoda 3 in China, according to autohome.com.cn, which published photographs of the new model.
The concept car showcases a frameless grille inspired by the brand’s other Omoda models, paired with two-layer headlights. Distinctive orange accents highlight the side sills, fenders, bumper, and the roof, creating a bold visual identity. Inside, the cabin emphasizes a driver-focused layout with a tilted steering wheel, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen dominating the center stack.
Under the hood, the crossover is expected to offer a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine delivering around 116 horsepower and 143 newton meters of torque. Transmission choices are a five-speed manual or a continuously variable automatic, depending on the market and configuration.
The Omoda 3 is noted to bear a strong resemblance to the Chery Tiggo 3x, prompting speculation that this new model targets foreign markets, including Russia and Kazakhstan, where the brand is expanding its footprint and product lineup.
Earlier reports indicated that the Omoda S5 sedan entered the Russian market with a price of 2.16 million rubles, securing the position just behind the Omoda C5 crossover in the brand lineup.
