AvtoVAZ, the Russian car maker, has set the price for the Lada Vesta with a CVT transmission. The information comes from Avtograd News on VKontakte, and an official announcement is expected soon.
At this moment, five Vesta units equipped with a 122 horsepower engine and CVT are leaving the production line. A recent factory meeting in the management building saw the marketing team expressing strong expectations for this CVT-equipped variant. They have put a price plan in place and expect to announce it officially in the near future, likely within a framework tied to a government procurement program. This update comes from internal communications at the factory, as reported by Avtograd News.
Azat Timerkhanov, head of the press service at the analytical agency Avtostat, indicated that an additional premium for the new Vesta version could be around 100 thousand rubles. This figure aligns with market discussions surrounding the CVT upgrade and the perceived value of the refreshed model, according to industry observers cited by Avtograd News.
The updated Lada Vesta lineup includes a WLY CVT option designed to endure substantial mileage, with a target durability extending toward a quarter of a million kilometers. The CVT introduced for Vesta is reported to resemble the Jatco JF015E unit once used on Lada vehicles during Renault ownership, sources noted by Avtograd News.
It is also reported that the WLY CVT18 is commonly found in Chery cars, which means mechanics are familiar with the technology. Some Chinese models have experienced tapered bearing failures, but experts believe Lada cars will be less prone to such issues due to simpler operating conditions, according to Avtograd News.
Earlier reports mentioned the potential cessation of Fisker automobile production by year’s end, a development that has been the subject of industry chatter alongside the Vesta CVT news, as summarized by Avtograd News.
