A detailed comparison of two crossovers: the latest Haval Dargo and the Mitsubishi Outlander, which debuted ten years ago, can be found here.
Get on the rollers
For four-wheel drive vehicles, we test our rolling platforms, which simulate a surface with no coefficient of friction. The first task is to drive off two platforms installed under the front wheels. Both machines handled it immediately.
Now practice “diagonally”. One platform is placed under the front wheel, the second – diagonally under the rear. Outlander blew up, tried, but could not take the obstacle – in one of the transmission modes.
Dargo proved to be more capable. In the standard and snow modes, insufficient momentum was transferred to the “grounded” wheels to come off the rollers. But in “Mud” mode, Haval completed the task. Conclusion: the imitation of wheel locks works better.
tribesmen
A year ago, “three diamonds” showed the new generation Outlander. It is built on the Nissan CMF-C/D platform – the new X-Trail is also based on it. The car is bigger, there is even more room in the cabin. In terms of equipment, “Out” overtook the segment leaders: adaptive cruise control, virtual tidying, three-zone climate control and even semi-aniline leather seats are offered at an additional cost. The pure petrol version now has a Nissan 2.5 engine (181 hp), but the hybrid version has kept its original 2.4 unit, assisted by a few electric motors.
Scheduled for the end of the year, the release of a new generation Outlander, for obvious reasons, will not take place. But let’s hope we’re still waiting for him.

Haval KuGou
Haval H-Dog
Dargo does not yet have a predecessor or successor, but the company’s range has a number of models that resemble each other like two drops of water. KuGou is positioned one step lower (body length 4520 mm). It is noteworthy that the volume of the trunk is larger: 493 liters. The 1.5 turbo engine in the basic version develops 150 forces – such cars come only with front-wheel drive. But forced to 184 horsepower. modifications depend on a 4×4 transmission.
H‑Dog is positioned a class higher (length 4705 mm). Power hybrid: 1.5 turbo engine works in combination with two electric motors. The total power is 326 “horses”!
