Times are changing and the Russian car market is changing with it. If in the past many did not even consider buying a Chinese crossover, then under the current circumstances, service maintenance that has become unaffordable sometimes forces you to turn even almost new European and Japanese cars into “Chinese”. And in the new market the choice has become considerably smaller.

This is confirmed by the statistics of the Association of European Businesses: even in the top 5 best-selling cars in September (not just crossovers!) two “Chinese” – Haval and Geely – firmly occupy the position. In this publication we will look at the “five” of the most successful Chinese crossovers, which entered the top 15 SUVs in September.

Haval Jolion is now second only to the domestic Niva (3493 units), with a result of 2313 cars sold (a 3.3-fold increase in sales compared to September 2021).

Furthermore, the following Chinese models successively belong to the popular crossovers:

  • Geely Coolray – 1341 pieces.(+25%), 5e Place
  • Geely Atlas Pro- 661 PCS. (+73%), 8e Place
  • Haval F7 491 PCS. (-55%), 10th Place
  • Geely Tugella- 439 PCS. (2x increase), 19th place
  • Haval f7X — 330 pcs. (-72%), 15th place.

Since European and Japanese SUVs are “washed out”, Chinese models will rise more and more, because now only the domestic Niva and Patriot, and even the Korean Hyundai Tucson, Santa Fe, Creta, as well as Kia Seltos and Sportage can compete with them. So the picture in the best-selling cars of the Russian market will continue to change.
