Maxim Sokolov became president and CEO of AVTOVAZ on May 23, 2022. A lot has been achieved in just four months of work.

At the same time, Maxim Sokolov’s close work with the government allows him to promote the changes demanded by society. The head of AvtoVAZ is particularly in favor of young parents being able to spend their mother’s capital on buying a car.
But is it possible to say that the government controls the company today, or is it more correct to speak of cooperation? Maxim Sokolov gave a clear answer to this question with concrete examples.

– The fact that the board of directors of the company is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov makes us hope that, if necessary, state resources will be mobilized.
A good example is the concessional loan programme. She has significantly revitalized the market. Visitor numbers to our dealer centers doubled in August and we sell up to 60% of Grant’s cars under preferred programs.
It is important that the entire automotive industry develops. Only AVTOVAZ now has 1,650 suppliers of components, raw materials and supplies. About 500 thousand people work in this sector. On a national scale, this number is even higher – after all, not only AVTOVAZ produces cars. And if we double the output, the multiplier works – the whole industry develops. And this in turn works for the overall state task of achieving technological sovereignty.
