In March 2022, a special investment contract was signed between the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Lipetsk Region and Motorinvest. Under the terms, Motorinvest launched the production of the I-Pro electric car with a 53 kW traction battery, a power reserve of 420 km (according to the NEDC cycle) and an electric motor power of 150 hp. and a torque of 260 Nm.
After the departure of foreign manufacturers, the Russian car market is going through difficult times. It is necessary to diversify its product range, and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce is taking a step in this direction – Evolute cars are joining the Ministry of Industry and Commerce’s program on preferential car loans. The I-Pro model, as well as other electric vehicles produced in Russia in the future, will receive an increased discount of 35% of the cost, Denis Manturov said.
Thanks to the implementation of this project, about 1.3 thousand jobs will appear in the Lipetsk region, and the budget will receive additional tax deductions.
The cost of the i-Pro sedan, according to preliminary data, is 2,990,000 rubles. It is believed that the main buyers will be taxi companies. The car is a copy of the Chinese Dongfeng Aeolus E70. The length is 4680 mm, comparable to the Hyundai Elantra and VW Jetta.
The company also plans to produce the i-Joy crossover, the i-Jet cross coupe and the i-Van minivan.
