The last time the domestic manufacturer increased prices was quite recent – at the beginning of August prices changed for the Largus and Granta models – but the situation is such that new price increases are possible literally every day. In an interview with Izvestia at the Eastern Economic Forum, the company’s president, Maxim Sokolov, answered the question about AvtoVAZ’s pricing policy.
We see our costs, the costs of our production processes – it has increased slightly over this period. Therefore, we believe that the price parameters that the market has reached today will not increase in the future, as in the previous period,” said Sokolov.
He added that AvtoVAZ has no intention of raising prices unless there are aggravating external factors in terms of component base cost growth.
The president acknowledged that, in addition to the supply crisis, the plant was experiencing a significant rise in parts prices due to a number of factors. According to Sokolov, electronics have risen in price – both imported and domestically produced. Some components have increased tenfold in price. “But these are new realities that we have to work with,” concluded the head of AVTOVAZ.
- In addition, Sokolov told how many parts for the assembly of Lada cars have not yet been imported.
