The Ministry of Transport proposes to ban scooters, unicycles and other individual mobility (SIM) vehicles weighing more than 35 kg from driving on pavements, informs “Parliamentary newspaper” with reference to the Road Regulation (SDA) amendments prepared by the Ministry.
In particular, it is recommended to limit the speed of the SIM to 25 km/h when driving on pavement. It has also been proposed to indicate the advantage of pedestrians when traveling with cyclists and SIM users in the SDA. Children aged 7-14 will only be ordered to use bicycles and SIMs on sidewalks and bike paths. It is planned to allow the elderly to use such vehicles on roadsides and main roads (where the speed limit is maximum 60 km/h).
Earlier in Moscow car crushed leg to a 12-year-old boy who was speeding through a pedestrian crossing.
