Earlier this week, Vladimir Shmakov, CEO of Chery Automobiles Rus, announced that sales of two sedans under the Chery brand will begin in 2023 in the Russian market. Several options were assumed, because there are plenty of sedans in the Chinese brand line.
But now there are clear indications which model will enter the Russian Federation: apparently one of the two is the Arrizo 6 Pro, known in China as the Arrizo 5 Plus.
The car Arrizo 6 Pro (Arrizo 5 Plus), after the high results achieved in the course of the JD Power study, was included in the list of sedans considered for presentation on the Russian market, reports the Russian press service of the Chery brand.
It is worth clarifying that JD Power is a large consulting firm, and the study mentioned is China Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL), which measures owners’ emotional attachment to their new car and level of commitment to 37 meet at 10. groups, including appearance, interior, performance, driving experience, safety, infotainment technology, fuel economy and more.
In short, the new Arrizo 5 Plus (we’ll call it Arrizo 6 Pro) is already popular with motorists in China, and this allows the Russian distributor to count on the success of the model in Russia. It is possible, because the sedan is really very interesting – both externally and in essence. Dimensions – 4680 x 1825 x 1490 mm, about the size of the Mazda 6.
According to the wheelbase, the “Chinese” is closer – 2670 mm. But the power sources fit well in the segment: aspirated with a power of 116 hp. mated to a manual gearbox or CVT9 variator, as well as a “turbo four” with 156 hp. in combination with the same variator – as on the Tiggo 7 Pro and Exeed LX already known to us.
- There have been more and more new products from China lately, and here are some other Chinese brands already heading to Russia.
- “Driving” can now be viewed on RuTube.
In terms of dimensions, it roughly corresponds to the Mazda 6, and the power sources are in line with the segment.
