The family of electric vehicles, developed entirely by domestic specialists, will not be produced in Russia, the project has been curtailed, the investor has not been found … – most recently, the media wrote about this. However, Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade has not received any information about the termination of the Zetta domestic electric vehicle project, and now a search for investment in the project is underway, the ministry’s press service told TASS.
“As with any private project, its implementation is linked to the need to attract investment. The company is just looking for them,” the ministry said.
Localization issues will not greatly affect the implementation of the project, the Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized. Important components, such as the drive system, are the company’s own local development or are supplied from friendly countries.
The Zetta is the first Russian electric car to go into mass production at the Tolyatti plant. It is a compact three-door electric vehicle. The maximum speed of the electric car is 120 km/h, the power reserve is about 180 km.
The timing of the serial launch of the project is still unclear, the information is contradictory. “Behind the wheel” sent a request for comment to the developers of the domestic electric car.
