Andrey Klimenko, head of the law enforcement activities division of the Main Directorate of Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, said there were 58% fewer persistent defaulters, accounting for more than 50 unpaid fines. But at the same time, there are still 40,000 such motorists left. And it’s not just individuals.
“As of today, we have 31.5 thousand individuals, 7.3 thousand legal entities, organizations and companies. Recently, in collaboration with the staff of the FSSP, we have been working quite closely and hard with this category,” Izvestia quotes Andrey Klimenko as saying.
The State Traffic Inspectorate has created a database of defaulters and in every region they are being taken “on a pencil”.
Motorists are also increasingly choosing to pay fines with a 50 percent discount. Today 75% of offenders do this.
The Federal Bailiff reminded that property and accounts can be seized. In addition, the debtor’s driving license can be temporarily suspended by court decision.
