GAZ Group has announced that production of the new CITYMAX-9 middle class bus will begin in the fourth quarter of 2022.
“The CITYMAX-9 is the first model of the next generation of GAZ Group buses, which will include vehicles with a length of 9 to 19 m, a capacity of 70 to 200 people in the future and will be produced at all bus factories. company,” the automaker said.
The innovation will be the first rear-engined bus model in the company’s assortment. The bus is built on a unified platform, which other models will receive later. Its length will be 9 meters, and its capacity – 77 passengers. The manufacturer emphasizes that the CITYMAX-9 has the largest low floor area (10 m²) in its class.
CITYMAX-9, which will be produced with only a diesel engine (YAMZ-534 engine and GAZ automatic transmission) at first, is planned to expand its product range later with the use of gas and electric engines. It is stated that the localization level of YaMZ powered buses will be approximately 90%.
