According to September 2024 statistics, 55% of second-hand car sales consist of buyers in the 25-44 age group, and 14% consist of representatives of Generation Z between the ages of 18-24. This was reported in a study provided to socialbites.ca by the car dealer who had Rolf.

“Zoomers – people aged 18 to 24 – choose the most affordable car options with an average cost of 1.7 million rubles. The most popular brands of Generation Z are Volkswagen, Kia and BMW. Zoomers account for 14% of cars sold,” the study notes.

Rolf noted that the largest share of used car sales during the month (55%) came from “millennials” (people aged 25 to 44). Buyers in this age category prefer Kia, Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai cars. They are also buying cars on credit more often: 41% of transactions were carried out using borrowed funds.

Second-hand Kia, Hyundai and Nissan are chosen by representatives of older age categories – “Xers” (45-56 years old) and “baby boomers” (57 years and older). These accounted for 26% and 5% of cars purchased, respectively. The average cost of a car purchased by a representative of generation X was 2.9 million rubles.
