The KamAZ-54902 truck tractor with a 4×2 wheel arrangement has started to be sold in Russia. The new model of the K5 generation is more affordable, similar to the KAMAZ-54901. About this reports The automaker’s Telegram channel.
“The car was built on a new sanctions-resistant component base. The time-tested KamAZ-689 engine with a capacity of 390 hp was used. The car is equipped with a 12-speed robotic transmission. An economical hypoid drive axle with an optimally selected gear ratio was also installed,” the report says.
It is stated that the car is designed for regional transportation over relatively short distances of up to a thousand kilometers. At the same time, it is about 10% cheaper than the KamAZ-54901.
Before that it was known that KamAZ will produce 12 driverless cars by September 2024.
The unmanned trucks will be specially designed to travel along the M-11 Neva highway connecting Moscow and St. Petersburg. On the M-11 highway, suitable infrastructure for the operation of drones has been created, including a mathematical model of the road.
