Russians’ spending on new and used cars in the first half of 2024 amounted to 6.93 billion rubles. reports “Prime” refers to Alexey Podshchekoldin, president of the association “Russian Automobile Dealers (ROAD)”.
According to him, Russians spent only 37% of this amount (2.59 billion rubles) on new cars. The total market capacity in 2023 was 12.64 trillion rubles, but new cars accounted for only 27% of this amount, i.e. 3.37 billion rubles.
He stated that while the purchasing power of citizens in Russia is decreasing, car prices are also increasing.
