Question from the forum “Behind the wheel” – we answer them periodically.
Is it always necessary to balance the wheel after repairing a flat tire?
– In case of significant damage, the repair is carried out by dismantling the tire and applying a plaster from the inside. In this case, the need for balancing is not even discussed.
But most often motorists are faced with small holes, up to 6 mm in diameter. I recommend repairing such damage yourself or at a tire shop using flagella.
The weight of the seal does not exceed a few grams and therefore you can save on balancing the wheels.
Practice shows that the reliability of repair with a correctly installed flagellum is such that the tire can be used until it is completely worn out.
