Poorly installed additional sound insulation of a car can lead to body corrosion. In an interview with Sputnik radio on this subject stated Anton Shaparin, Vice President of the National Automobile Association.

“Poorly made sound insulation can lead to corrosion. The fact is that layers of viscous adhesive that reduce vibration are glued directly to the metal. For example, if this insulation on the doors is not rolled well enough with a special roller and is still glued, gaps may appear under which condensate will accumulate. This will lead to rapid corrosion of the metal,” said Anton Shaparin.

According to him, sound insulation made of foam rubber can also cause corrosion because it accumulates moisture. Additionally, additional sound insulation can increase the weight of the vehicle by up to 100 kg. This will cause the braking distance to increase.

Vadim Strelbitsky, formerly director of the mechanical repair department of Avilon Kia statedAfter changing the oil, an unpleasant knocking noise may appear in the engine.

The first reason is filling the engine with too little or too much oil. The second reason is a dirty oil pump filter. Thirdly, a knocking noise may indicate that the engine and filters need time to reach the final lubrication point after the oil change, but this is usually not long, just a few minutes. Fourth, the oil pump in the car may be faulty. The fifth cause of engine knocking is the use of low quality oil and filter.
