“If a car travels less than 10 thousand km per year, it makes sense to change the oil in the spring. The fact is that oil temperature differences in winter can reach 120°C. As the vehicle moves with a cold engine, the oil becomes saturated with fuel. As a result, the oil loses its properties much faster than in the summer months,” Revin explained.
According to an automobile expert, the engine wears out more during cold starts in winter. In addition, the oil filter becomes clogged due to wear products. In this regard, the oil can be changed in the spring, and in the summer you can start the car more often without fear of dynamic driving in the heat.
The expert noted that if a car travels more than 10 thousand km per year, it is better to change engine oil in spring and autumn.
