The BMW car of Marius Beyer, a politician from the German Alternative for Germany party, was burned in front of his house in Leipzig. This was reported by Picture.
The publication notes that, according to documents, the vehicle belongs to the politician’s mother. The damage caused by arson amounted to approximately 85 thousand euros.
“It appears that the arson was carried out by supporters of left radical groups. The publication states that the inscriptions “We will be back, Nazi pig” and “161” (a sequence of letters of the Latin alphabet representing the abbreviation AFA – Antifa Action) were left on the wall.
The publication emphasizes that Beyer’s other car was also burned in the summer of 2020, and that the politician was beaten in a bar in Leipzig in 2023.
Before that, it became known that the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution of Germany (BfV) was considering the possibility of recognizing the right-wing “Alternative for Germany” party as extremist.
A decision on this issue will not be made until April. The party may receive “safe extremist initiative” status, which could lead to tightening control over the group’s members.
Previously in Germany sorted extremist youth organization “Alternatives for Germany”.
