Experts from the Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU) have developed a system for automatic recognition of road signs. In this respect reports TASS with reference to the press service of the university.

“The signs are read from the dipped headlights at a distance of about 25 m. The system then sends a signal to the windshield through a voice assistant or projection. The driver has about 1-5 seconds to react to the information received,” said Alexander, an engineer at the Department of Information Technologies and Automated Systems at PNRPU Larionov.

According to him, the system does not depend on the internet or GPS, which means it can work stably in all conditions.

It is stated that similar systems are also installed in foreign business class cars. It is not known whether a domestic analogue will appear in Russian cars.
