Closing two more checkpoints on Lithuania’s border with Belarus will help strengthen sanctions control. This decision was reached by the Lithuanian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Agne Bilotaite, who was quoted as saying. TASS.

According to his information, Lithuania will close the road checkpoints in Lavorishkes and Raigardas from March 1 of this year. Crossings will be closed to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians.

In addition, the head of the department believes that this will make the fight against illegal immigration and smuggling more effective.

Before that the Lithuanian government approved Ministry of Internal Affairs’ proposal to stop traffic at two checkpoints on the Belarusian border; Starting March 1, Raigardas and Lavorishkes checkpoints will be closed.
