Tariffs of the Moscow-Kazan toll highway are being optimized on Putin’s instructions

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to analyze travel fees on the recently opened highway from Moscow to Kazan. In this respect reports Kremlin press service. Bids must be ready within one month.

“The Government of the Russian Federation, with the participation of the State Company Avtodor, analyzes travel tariffs on the M-12 “Vostok” highway on the route from Moscow to Kazan and, taking them into account, submits proposals to determine the most optimal tariffs. The message states that it is requested by residents of the relevant constituent entities of the Russian Federation and commercial organizations.

It was noted that the proposals should be submitted to Vladimir Putin before March 15, 2024.

Length highways M-12 “Vostok” Moscow – Kazan – Yekaterinburg – Tyumen will be 1980 km. This is one of the main sections of the international route “Russia”. According to current plans, the route will be extended to Yekaterinburg in 2024 and to Tyumen in 2025.

The M-12 section between Moscow and Kazan is 810 km. Its flooring was completed seven months ahead of schedule. Thanks to the new road, the journey by car from the Russian capital to Kazan is expected to take 6.5 hours, not 12. In addition, the opening of the highway to traffic is expected to have a positive impact on the economies of 12 regions at the same time. The site opened on December 21, 2023.
