Any unusual noise a car makes could indicate a malfunction. In this respect reports Sputnik radio cites Anton Shaparin, vice president of the National Automobile Association.
“Abnormal sounds indicate that there is a problem with the vehicle. Any abnormal sound can lead to the loss of hundreds of thousands of rubles,” Shaparin said.
According to one automotive expert, squealing brake pads can be an indicator of serious wear, and a whistling sound of a timing belt can indicate the risk of “meeting” between the valve and the piston. The growing chains begin to rumble. In some vehicles, a chopping sound is heard from under the dashboard, indicating that the air conditioning compressor has failed.
Some cars have generic sounds that are unique only to them. Shaparin emphasized that in some cars, for example, gearboxes howl.
By the way, the automobile expert advised to contact specialists and carry out diagnosis at the first incomprehensible sounds during the operation of the car’s mechanisms.
