The State Duma did not support the bill, which provides for a fine of up to 10 thousand rubles or deprivation of rights for “dangerous driving”. In this respect reports “Kommersant”.

It was noted that the State Construction Committee, after consulting with lawyers, concluded that the concept of “dangerous driving” was too difficult to understand and apply, and therefore needed to be changed.

A bill providing for fines and deprivation of a driver’s license for deliberately dangerous driving on the road was submitted to the State Duma by LDPR deputies in July 2023. The bill proposed to supplement the Code of Administrative Offenses of Russia (CAO RF) with a new chapter providing for an administrative fine in the amount of 5 thousand rubles for intentional dangerous driving. Repeated violation will result in a fine of 5 thousand to 10 thousand rubles. or deprivation of driver’s license for up to one year.

The document stated that dangerous driving and indifferent attitude towards other drivers are the cause of 80% of traffic accidents. Deputies emphasized that taking photographs or video recordings as evidence would be a prerequisite for bringing the drivers to justice.
