Temperature changes pose a danger to drivers because slush and ice form on the roads during these periods. In a conversation with the online publication “Paragraf” on this topic said Transport safety expert, member of the working group in the State Duma Transport Committee, Yulia Mann.
“In this type of weather, most accidents happen because of tires. When drivers use summer and all-season tires during temperature changes, they sometimes do not have time to stop the vehicle in an emergency. On ice, such tires do not brake well and are very dangerous. In second place is the inability to maintain distance in icy weather. The expert emphasized that there should be at least four car bodies, and not the usual one and a half to two meters.
According to him, if the car skids, it is important for drivers to turn the steering wheel in the direction of the skid, thereby straightening the body of the car, and smoothly apply the brakes or shift to a lower gear. Mann also stated that vehicle owners with little driving experience should avoid traveling in such weather.
The other day, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Center for Hydrometeorology aforementionedThe entire European part of Russia is expected to experience approximately the same weather by the end of the week – air temperatures are expected to be warmer than normal. No negative anomalies are predicted anywhere
