Thousands of cars of German and Japanese brands, most of which are produced in China, accumulated in the parking lots of the former Volkswagen factory in Kaluga. RBC reports this.

The parking lot includes Volkswagen cars produced for the Chinese market, Audi Q6, Toyota RAV4 crossovers, electric Avatr 11, as well as GAC ​​M8 minivans and crossovers of the Chinese Chery brand.

Signs saying Volkswagen and Skoda were removed from the factory building. Also in the parking lot it was not possible to find cars assembled by the Volkswagen concern at the Kaluga plant.

The Volkswagen plant in Kaluga came under the control of the Russian company Art-Finance, and the former Volkswagen representative office in Russia was renamed AGR LLC, which also imports cars into Russia through parallel imports. The facility is expected to be operational again in 2024.
