Starting from January 22, 50 sections of Moscow streets will be included in the residence permit zone – parking spaces there will be paid, but local residents will not pay anything. The news agency reports this with reference to the capital’s Ministry of Transport. Interfax.

The document states that, by agreement with municipal deputies, 50 street sections will be included in the housing permits zone. At the same time, only 0.48% of the total number of available places on the road network will be charged.

The changes will affect crowded streets near large residential complexes, shopping and business centres, where local residents struggle to find parking near their homes. Therefore, they will still be able to park their vehicles for free, but they will find empty spaces much faster.
