“The situation is unclear and it is still difficult to make categorical assessments. Of course, the first reaction is to be cautious, to say the least. On the other hand, the shortage of spare parts and the increase in their prices cause compulsory insurance prices to increase, and we need to look for ways to prevent this. A modern car consists of thousands of components and parts that have different effects on safety and controllability, and the condition of the parts used can also vary. We must look for a balance between the safety and accessibility of the vehicle,” Mironov said.
According to the MP, allowing the use of used spare parts would require mandatory certification of parts used in repairs and a list of items that cannot be replaced with used spare parts.
“There is also a question: will we not make life easier for insurers and servicemen, but tariffs for compulsory traffic insurance will still increase – such a sad prospect cannot be ruled out,” he noted.
