South Korea’s ban on the free import of cars with engine capacity over 2.0 liters to Russia will not affect the import of such cars to our country in any way. Dmitry Rogov, founder of the RogovMobil company (specialist in turnkey car delivery from abroad), told socialbites.ca about this.
The auto expert is confident that the Russian consumer will not feel any changes in the market due to new restrictions. According to him, ways to bypass the bans have long been found and work – Korean cars will be supplied through the same channel as Japanese and German expensive cars.
“First, they banned the import of German cars from Japan that cost more than 50 thousand Euros, then hybrid cars and cars with engines larger than 1.9 liters. But in fact all cars are still delivered to us. Everything, new, used, expensive, cheap, in every engine size, is delivered from Europe, which was the first to impose sanctions. Everything comes from Japan too. As they say, the severity of any law can be offset by the optionality of compliance with them. “We have adapted to everything and we will adapt to this as well,” Rogov said.
On Tuesday, it became known that South Korea decided to expand the list of goods for which special government permission is required for export to Russia and Belarus to 1,159 items. The restrictions will apply not only to passenger cars priced up to 50 thousand dollars, but also to all cars with an engine capacity over 2.0 liters.
