If the key rate and logistics costs decrease, domestic cars may become cheaper. In this respect reports RIA Novosti, citing the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov.
“This year AvtoVAZ prices have increased by approximately 11%. This is mainly due to complex logistics, exchange rate differences and the cost of borrowed funds. For example, speaking of logistics, today transportation of a Lada Vesta by car carrier costs 40 thousand rubles per car, while for AvtoVAZ the margin for this model is about 50 thousand rubles. So here we can compare who earns more: carriers or automakers. The company has a large amount of debt to pay, so the increase in the key rate is also reflected in the cost of the car,” the Deputy Prime Minister explained.
According to Manturov, the ministry plans to monitor how car prices will change with the gradual decrease in interest rates and changes in logistics prices.
Before that, he worked at the Ministry of Industry and Trade statedHe said that the Russian automobile market will begin to recover and the sales level may reach 1.3 million units in 2024. The department stated that the sales volume in 2026 will correspond to the average annual sales volume in 2015-2021. The market will gradually grow by 1% per year from 2027. Thus, by 2030 the Russian automobile market will reach the level of 1.8 million cars per year, and by 2035 the sales volume will reach 1.9 million cars per year.
