It turned out that most Russian motorists periodically look at the Rules of the Road to refresh their knowledge. At least this answer was given by 36% of the respondents of the 1,500 people who took part in the SberAvto survey. Another 31% turn to traffic rules when a difficult situation arises on the road, 21% do not resort to the rules, but navigate according to the situation … And another 13% said there is no need to follow the rules repeat, because they already remember everything perfectly.

The signals from the air traffic controller are the most difficult for modern motorists to perceive – 24% of respondents indicated that they had difficulty understanding them. The second most difficult aspect was the rules for the passage of tram tracks (18%), and the rules for correct parking close the top three (12%).

For some, the rules of reversing (9%) and the priority of route vehicles (8%), as well as the principles of providing first aid and organizing roundabouts are not easy … But at the same time, 44% of Russians said that no subject of traffic rules caused them difficulties both in learning and in applying in life.

According to almost a third of the motorists surveyed (32%). 36% of respondents consider them imperfect, but generally comply with current reality, and 12% said they were not satisfied with the existing rules. 20% of the respondents indicate that they have not thought about it.

Most desired changes (% of respondents)

  • increase in pedestrian responsibility – 60%
  • tightening of the Rules for Motorcyclists – 39%
  • increase in responsibility for not passing special vehicles – 31%
  • moderation of the speed limit was expressed – 26%
  • correction of overtaking rules on country roads. – twenty%

In addition, according to some motorists, the rules should be particularly difficult to stop driving on the side of the road and not turn on the turn signals. But 13% admitted they wouldn’t change the existing traffic rules because they don’t think it’s worth touching something that works.
