The Kyrinsky District Court of the Trans-Baikal Territory overturned the magistrate’s decision to impose an administrative penalty on local resident Vasily Somov for drunken driving. Vasily Somov learned that he was deprived of his driver’s license for 1.5 years only after receiving notice of the fine of 30 thousand rubles, which was also imposed for this offense. He was familiar with the case materials and realized that the culprit in the video recording was his brother, with whom he had not communicated for a long time.
It turned out that there was no document regarding the drunk driver caught by the traffic police, and a report was prepared based on his words. The criminal gave the traffic police his brother’s personal information such as his phone number, workplace and position.
“When checking the identity using the FIS traffic police database, the traffic police officer detected the presence of similarities, and Denis Somov explained to him that he had lost weight after the divorce,” the press service of the court said.
The district court overturned the magistrate’s decision to bring Vasily Somov to administrative responsibility.
