The Moskvich plant plans to export its cars in the future. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to Oleg Maslyakov, production manager of the automobile plant.
“We have such plans, but right now we are focused on developing the Russian market. “After the main stages of establishing the dealer network and establishing production are completed, the export issue will be discussed,” he said.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the resumption of car production under the Moskvich brand in mid-May 2022. Assembly is done at the Renault factory, which is transferred to the city’s balance sheet.
The Moskvich factory now produces the Moskvich 3 crossover, the Moskvich 3e electric car and the Moskvich 6 sedan. Production of the latter started in September, but sales of the model have not yet started.
