A resident of the Kostroma region filed a lawsuit against a car dealer in the amount of 389.4 thousand rubles for the electronic book “Car Workshop” imposed on the purchase of a car, reported On the Telegram channel of the Kostroma Regional Court.

When buying a car in the summer of 2023, a woman signed an IPO, during which she was expected to receive a roadside assistance card of 268 thousand rubles. After completion of the transaction, the buyer sorted the documents and realized that his costs according to the contract for the provision of services were only 13.4 thousand rubles, and he purchased the non-periodic electronic publication “Automotive Workshop” for 254.6 thousand rubles.

He complained to the dealer, but he returned only 13.4 thousand rubles for services not provided. Thereupon, the driver applied to the court and found that the seller violated Article 16 of the Law on the Protection of Consumer Rights by making the service purchase conditional on the simultaneous purchase of goods.

More than 389 thousand rubles were recovered from the selling company in favor of the plaintiff – the cost of the imposed electronic publication, a fine of 129.8 thousand rubles and 5 thousand rubles for moral damage.
