Volkswagen had to stop the production of electric vehicles at its factory in Zwickau (Germany) for three weeks due to problems in the supply of electric motors. In this respect reports Automotive News Europe.

“Production of electric drives at the Volkswagen Group’s Components plant in Kassel is currently only possible to a limited extent,” a company representative is quoted in the publication as saying.

The company announced that the production of Volkswagen ID4 and ID5 cars will be suspended for approximately three weeks. Additionally, problems with components led to the suspension of production of the Audi Q4 E-tron and Audi Q4 Sportback E-tron.

However, the problem did not affect Volkswagen ID3 and Cupra Born cars, their assembly continues in accordance with the production plan.
